Yard work

I decided that this was the weekend that I was finally going to do something about my front yard. This winter was not so nice to my tree in front and all my beds really look like they need some TLC.
So, I went and bought four trees and four bushes to plant in my yards. I got a Magnolia tree, Royal Red Maple tree, Prymidal Hawthorn and a Plum tree. Then I went to Syd's a local nursery to pick up some bushes. I got some low lying evergreens and this bush I never heard about before which was called Blue Muffin. The bush has little berries that are blue, and it's such a pretty blue color. I believe they only bloom in the spring, so I guess we won't see that this year. My daughter just loves to help and since I have hurt my knee

her help was so welcomed today. I also had a landscaper come over today and lay down some mulch for me. This was a first for us. Usually we are the ones laying down the mulch but this guy just showed up at my door and asked if I would like a quote and it was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up. It was so nice not to have to lug all that mulch around.

The next thing I have to get is some flowers to put in some pots that I have around the house and I think I will hold off on that for just a little while. I want to make sure the weather cooperates with me and because I live in Illinois ya never know what weather will be served up. Well that's all for today.

Layouts from the Crop

Well I finally got around to up loading the layouts I did at the crop I attended. I am starting to learn more techniques and I have so many ideas running through my head that today I decided to start a journal so I don't lose some of my ideas. I really can't say what I like doing more scrapbooking or making cards. I think that I like making cards because they are quick and I can get inspiration from a lot of things that I see on a day to day basis. As for scrapbooking I am still finding it hard to arrange my pages. I don't know if it's because the pictures or try to match the paper to the photos. I am also venturing out into the stamping world with my cards. I have so many ideas that I want to do. Now I just have to find the perfect stamps to go with those ideas.

I got to play!

Well I was able to play in my craft room tonight. It felt so good to be able to do it. I've been wanting to go in there all weekend, but with the Holiday and the kids home off school it wasn't going to happen. Yesterday and most of today, I spent trying to catch up on my cleaning since the kids had a long weekend from school. Why is it that the house always seems to be messier when they are off school???

I decided to play with my new heat gun and versa mark ink and embossing powder. This was the first time I tried this and I must say it will not be the last time either! I have so many ideas for how I want to use them. After I was done playing I decided to pack up my tote bag because I will be attending my very first crop at a store near me. I can't believe I never done that before. I can hardly wait it should be a good time.

Happy Easter Everyone! It's 7:25 a.m. and I can't believe it the house is still quiet. I bet any minute now that my daughter is going to come flying out of her bedroom to see if the Easter bunny has come, so I better get ready for her.

Here are a few layout that I worked on yesterday.

Just starting out

I have just been inspired to start scrapping and I am in the process of setting up a craft room to put all my great stuff. I thought I would give you a sneak peak of the progress of the room. It's a work in progress right now and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
I share this room with my seven year old daughter who also loves to do crafts.
She loves to paint, scrap and draw. It's so fun to have her there. I love sharing the room with her.
Here is a couple of items that I have been working on.
